I'm new to the whole digtal coloring process so these are the first pieces I have finished on my own. So don't be too harsh on me, kay? The first is about a month or so old. Of course, it's my character Akhail and his wyvern Sasavi asleep on the couch.

The second one I've successfully finished was a gift for my brother JC. This one is about two weeks old and it's him and his in-game twin sibling, Seraph.

Thanks very much Non. ^^
I draw everything out with pencil on paper first, usually leaving out designs and logos and the small details. Then I scan it, take it into Adobe Photoshop CS and re-do all my lines, adding the little details or stuff that didn't scan completely when the scan went through. I wipe the background white for my lineart and then from there i start coloring. Every new section is a seperate layer, I only use the brush tool and it's different brush types and do the shading and highlights by hand. The logos are copied into the layers, stenciled out and then colored accordingly. Depending on the detail it takes me between 2 days and a week to finish coloring once the lineart is finished, depending on how much time I have to submit to the art.
I'm really just a nerd and love spending time playing with Adobe though. I make lots of banners and icons and stuff so the program never stays ignored for long.

Yes I would love to learn more about Illustrator and PS CS. Do you have a link to any really good easy-to-understand tutorials?
Also my goal for this weekend is 75 blm! Anyone wanna help? Then what are you doing on here instead of being in-game?!?!

Hmm.... I dunno anything about Illustrator, though I heard it is a very good program. I just integrated myself to CS about three months ago. Before then I was using Adobe Photoshop 5.5 for about four years. As for tutorials....I've tried to follow a couple of them but I always get more lost following them then anything else. So I'm pretty much trial and error self taught and coached by a friend of mine.
Banners I've finished for Wings of Eternia's Forums:

Plus Akh's own. I like making banners and I have more in the works for our members. I've just been occupied lately and had little time to finish what I have started. ^^;

I like the sigs you make, I'm not very good with sigs the backgrounds take too much creative ability =P I'm not an artist. I'm good with Illustrator because you use simple shapes to make things and that's where I feel at home so to speak.
Akhail if you get some free time throw together a sig for me, I can save the model sets for my char's gear so that you don't have to go through and deal with that if you want. |

Sure thing! ^^ I don't mind making sigs for whoever wants them. I just need to know you're fave class and/or fave eq. I don't mind doing multiple jobs in a signature either.
Really, I'm lazy with backgrounds (hence why the pic of Lucient and Seraph is missing one.... >.>) But on avatars I just screw around with filters and brushes until I get something that looks nice. Some signatures I've seen on FFXI fansites are crazy....people seem to spend hours on them.

I need to know how to create the signature script! I really don't understand what kind of text to put in the bow to add my sig to posts.
Anyone know?
Anyways, here is my attempt at a signature... lol dont laugh too hard!

I have a thing for bright colors so I like your sig Chat. ^^ I'm not used to such big banners though @_@ one of the forums I was on when I was just starting out didnt allow big images like that so I got acostumed to making small ones and stuck with it.
