imo, this wont change a thing for warrior, unless they have a mad haste setup they will still be going as a different job to sky etc, as for TP burns, dual wield 4tw

I don't know, faster tp build or some kinda of martial affect on the GAXE could be need for some Steel Cyclone destruction. Even some kinda of Double Attack+ grip could make up for the GAXE right now. I'm super excited to see the grips for mages, gimme some of that secksy enmity- grip and I can do more destruction without the repercussions. Also an avatar perpetuation- grip would be awesome for SMN. But we'll see what all they are going to be offering with those grips. Should be interesting to say the least.

Yeah, a -enmity (or +STR or +Ratk/racc or ANYTHING beneficial) grip would be freakin' sweet for RNGs using Fire/Vulcan's Staffs.
Plus it only makes sense... something that SE's against, especially for RNGs, so it might not happen for us.

Yeah, from what I've seen so far with the updates and the grips, the bonus' gained seem to be pretty nice. I do think we need some like legendary grips to hit the scene though.
So far I'd have to say the Pole +2% Double Attack, Claymore +3% Critical Chance, and Sword -3% Twohanded Delay. Are among the BEST of the grips... I also think if the proc rate is decent on the Platinum Grip, +2 Acc, + Stun Proc could be one of the most helpful also.
I really think as far as Melee is concerned the Grips will really give 2 handed weapon classes like DRG, SAM and DRK a bit more of an edge over some of the two handed competition.
Anyway... just my feelings on the grips thus far... still haven't gotten a chance to play with them myself.

I was finally able to access FFXIclopedia and see all the grips. That Axe grip seems to be the best thing going for RNG right now. +2 STR ain't so bad, given the slot.
Speaking of other updates, I'm reading on the forums that DRKs, DRGs, and SAMs are straight-up godly now because of the new damage calulations on 2H Weapons; especially against gods and HNMs. The KI RNGs are once again crying about being at the bottom of the barrel. I was wondering if this was true, or are they just overstating things.

The damage isn't all that much more, the thing is that now they don't need Sneak Attack to do that damage, as a matter of fact Sneak Attack doesn't stack with them anymore. The good thing about that is when you are fighting stuff like fafnir or anything that you can't get behind it, you can still TA+WS for that 1k damage setting hate, and you don't have to be behind the mob to throw those numbers.

Ah, I see. That's pretty sweet.
I can see DRK/SAM and DRG/SAM being a lot more beastly now. 8O
Can't say they didn't deserve this update.

Yeah, I was talking about meripo. I've seen screenshots of the damage those guys have been putting out. Hory sheet...
...But I think SE's giving SAM a little too much head. "Fixing" a job that was never broken... twice.
I mean, what, do they feel THAT horrible about nerfing Meditate back in '04? lol
I've read there's an update coming up next month about fixing the damage calculations or something. Let's hope SE looks in the RNG's direction this time.

I've seen RNG's do plenty of DMG... ¬_¬... What about Ninja over here... I mean C'mon I'm lucky if I can do 500+ DMG on a weapon skill...
It takes me like 4 minutes to solo an EP... T_T

Well, first off, NIN wasn't really built for spike damage. Secondly, a properly geared NIN's DoT rivals that of a MNK's. At least you can survive a 4 minute fight with an EP; our piss poor defense and evasion won't grant us that luxury. You have nothing to be sad about.
Yeah, RNG is still able to put out great spike damage, but to be outclassed by 2h weapon jobs so effortlessly...
<insert "We Pay for our Damage" speech here>
<insert "Spike Damage is our Greatest Redeeming Quality" and "It Sets Us Apart from the Other Melee" speeches here>
...in other words, if SE brought in this update in July 2005 instead totally fucking over the RNGs, things would have been so much better.
SE, if you're reading this, return us back to our former glory!
*wipes tears* ...So ...h-how about that Chocobo Circuit? Nice change of pace, eh?
