First off this is not a message saying that I am leaving the LS, I will always keep the pearl with me no matter where I go in FF. This is a message thanking Nonponcho for all the hard work he has put into leading the best LS that I have ever been invited into, I can't even imagine what it would be like to run an endgame LS so all I can do is thank Non for the incredible effort he made to make an awesome LS, which he succeeded at in my opinion. I had a blast being a member of MR, I will never forget how much fun it was, and remember I am NOT leaving the LS, even if I am the only person in the shell I will keep it so that I can keep the memory of MR alive. Thank you Nonponcho for all the great times I had and all the lessons that I learned from you and from the LS, I hope that I see you around in FF sometime, and if I don't have that pleasure then I wish you the best of luck in all that you do. No, thank you Llon. It's people like yourself that make it all worth while. When I get back home if I choose to keep playing then I will keep it social for awhile. Nen already got rid of his account but I may keep playing here and there.
i am also with Llonheart i have now moved to another LS but will always keep MR on hand at all times. Its one of those r/ex items that i just cant drop because its value is to much to me. im always here non nen nan nin if any of you need me please just send a tell and ill drop all i am doing to come to your aid. i thank you for being the first EGLS i have ever been in non you opened my eyes to what the games true fun is all about and you lead us all into battle like a wonderful king!! thank you much non and please dont leave the game do to all of this you can still play and be happy no matter what.

I'm standing shoulder to shoulder with Llonheart here. I have been in MR since it was made. I will be damned if i'm leaving now. i have been very quiet until now. i tried to keep MR afloat with help from tablyn and llonheart while non was gone, but it just didnt happen. when a leader becomes a turncoat and walks out with a group of members to a bush league ls, that puts a serious dent in an ls' psyche. i feel bad for the people who have left because "we don't do enough events". the long and short of it is, if you people would show up and not bolt just in time to miss sky farms or decide to xp instead of do CoP, then we would have a lot more events done. people want it all, but dont seem to want to do any of the work. i believe we have a small core who can still instill these values into up and coming endgamers, not the same people who have had 75s for 3 years now. bastien and his crew sound like the kind of new blood who MR needs to ever have another chance; people who are not jaded by endgame and the ratrace for gear. they haven't been burned again and again by the schemers. i'd like to see MR live, and be more than just gear for people. we can wipe out cool monsters, make good friendships, and build a great ls for the "good guys" to call home. is anyone with me?

First off Ben you have no idea man. People were leaving left and right for various reasos. I chose to go wo WTT and bring those peeps so we could keep at least most of the former MR peeps together. If that was not to happen more and more would go there seperate ways. You all can bash me if you want but i did offer all to come with. Llonheart you are more than welcome to come. Ben same goes for you. I did what I felt was in the best interest of the MR peeps. Mr itslef did not have anymore endgame ability left in it. Deny if you want. Events were canceled for various different reasons and cause people to leave because of this. I did what i could to make so less would leave. You can ask those that came with me. They are happy with the decision and glad we didnt all go our sepperate ways. And as far as WTT is concerned you'd be surprised how far theyve came. For a LS thats been doing events solo only for a little while they HAVE accomplished more than MR has at that stage of existance. I personally coud not start completely over once again like MR has done so many times. Non can vouch we have done ZMs way to much. So I type here before yall if you wanna bash me or what i've done so be it not gonna aggue with yall in that respect. My heart is for MR and its peeps, mr wouldnt be MR w/o its peeps and hence y i tried to keep as many peeps together as I could.

Cid, i'm really not upset about what has happened. not at all, to be quite honest. i'm more just surprised at your decision. you pulled an art modell. you jacked the team and left for greener pastures. i have no idea if you will win a super bowl like he did, but the analogy is pretty close. you helped build MR. i refuse to believe that you would be so eager to jump ship at the first instant there was any doubt. i dont know what your motivation was; it could be many different things. was it a problem with thomas or some other members? wanting to get gear ( i find this highly doubtful)? the "doing more events" nonsense? you claim your motivation was "to keep the MR peeps together". if that was your motivation, you failed big time. you took a couple handful of the good members that we had, and left the other half of what we had put together to dwindle in the MR pearl. for 2 weeks or so after you left it was consistently me, tablyn, llonheart, gerrod, tully, theforsaken in MR pearl. i spoke with a handful more that defected with you who said they are still MR faithful, and would come back at the drop of a hat if MR wanted to start scheduling stuff. This completely and totally refutes any kind of "for the best of the members" argument. granted, maybe we would have only had 12 members for an event, or only 6 people would be on at the time for an event. but with people like bastien applying on here and pleading to keep it alive for a next gen. of endgamers to come, the Ls clearly could find new blood to fill the ranks. you say WTT is getting better and i might be surprised how far they have come. well gee golly, it couldn't have anything to do with the shot in the arm of power they gained from good MR members and their experience, could it? i have limited interactin with WTT, but the people i have played with are ass douches in the purest form. they were such big pricks that we got in a disagreement, so they kicked me from pt and replaced me in jungle, so i had AJ and Thomas come kill every mandy and gob in the zone. they were big enough douche bags that i had to resort to that. if i could have, i would have repeatedly MPKed them. that is a long winded way of saying, fuck WTT, big time. The move to DS was, in retrospect, a horrible idea. you know this, you left DS. That move, however, was decided by the LS leader, because he no longer desired to lead. You and your midnight escape to WTT did not have the legitimacy of the move to DS. I would love for you to come back and lay it all out. own up to what you did and say why. you will probably keep throwing the lame "for the peeps to stay together line". we both know that's a lie. if you wanted what was best for MR and the members in it, you would get everyone back together and in the MR pearl. i'm not asking you to do that. i dont really want you to do that. I havent played the game since your military coup. ok for one last i knew cid didnt say he was done with MR at all. and im not bashing anybody here but most people can and will do what they want. i love MR and all the people i played with which is why i moved to where most have made home now WTT. and i love it we all hang out do our thing and we arnt summoned to do shit if we dont want to. WTT is a hey lets do this LS instead of hey EVERYBODY HERE NOW! WITHIN A WEEK the LS was cleaned out. those of us who stayed considered trying to keep shit held together. it just wasn't happening; none of us had time to be an interim leader and try to rebuild the LS while non was gone. so you can stick with cid, and enjoy your time in WTT, but everyone who went to WTT knows what they did, and each of you helped stick one big ass knife in MR, and non's back. i doubt non will want to rebuild MR now, and i don't blame him. i really do hope he wants to go to shiva to one of his RL buddy's endgame LS's. but hey, whatever, i will just ride out this dying game wherever i end up. if you are going to try and explain and justify why you left, please give me a break. if you want to admit that you turned your back on MR when it needed its core the most, then I will at least respect you for not trying to hide the facts of the issue. Jeez guys, I never wanted this thread to turn into a war between people. Things happen and we can't change the past so either please stop pointing fingers and placing blame or make another thread for it.
Guys, I don't think going back and forth is going to do much. If you gusy want to rebuild MR you're gonna have to be proactive instead of just pointing fingers. The problem that I found with MR which drove me to quit was a bit of two things.
First, MR couldn't sustain members... everytime we started to build up a member base some shit would hit the fan and someone would want to take a night off or what not and like that they would be gone from the LS. In the 3 or so months I was with MR I saw atleast 10-15 members come and go... that's Obsurd. You guys can blame it on them saying they were being selfish and not wanting to contribute and that is true... but it's also true that people play this game to have fun, not all are as Selfless and giving of their time.
You say this and that about Poisoned and all those other "Great" LS' but seriously... let's play this as a game not as a job. Guys I'll speak for everyone here and say that IF MR weren't so serious, endgame would have been more fun. But when you have someone yelling at you like they are your father and telling you what you should and shouldn't do... it really makes for a tense atmosphere, and that works to build that attitude in the players of "Oh I don't wanna attend the event tonight cause I don't feel like putting up with all the BS."
Simply put, it shouldn't be like that. Rather then trying to be like Poisoned, just be MR! Find what works, and stick with that... if what you're doing isn't working then change! I can't count the number of times I said "Guys, we need to try and pick up new members... " it came down to the fact that I would try shouting in whitegate and jeuno for members, but the only thing that held us back from pulling new members was the desire to not get people who didn't have sky access.
Thus, the members we had with skyy access were leaving or being kicked, and we wouldn't take on new LS members unless they already had sky atleast. I can understand the reasoning behind this, but seriously... It's just not possible to do business like that. Unless you're the leader of Poisoned, you can't MAKE people into members of Poisoned. Just the same... being able to do everything with a small group of good players would be nice... but I think being able to do everything with a large group of good players would be much better.
For the sake of MR... change the way you do business guys, and become really great in your own light. When you start moving toward that Goal, I'll be more then happy to help again.

I find it funny that the same people that want to help the ls or improve the ls are also the people that will leave at the drop of a hat. The only reason you would leave an ls to go to another is:
A) playing with friends gear
C) cuz you got kicked
If your friends were in MR then you wouldn't have to leave MR to be with your friends. If you want gear, then /laugh you certainly aren't going to get it with a linkshell that was deemed incapable of performing up to the level that MR expected, and up to the level that you need to get shit done. Cid trying to pass judgement that WTT is as far or further than MR was in accomplishment at the same time or whatever is bullshit. We were killing Kirin without all of the merit options that people have now. WTT is still probably trying to figure out if they should have RDM or WHM sleep mobs in Dynamis. If you got kicked then you won't be discussing these things on the website.
Moderator, as far as enjoying the "do stuff when you feel like" ls, continue to enjoy. If the linkshell lasts long enough it will take you 3 years to get out of sky at that rate just to move on to things that are fun. The reason we pushed so hard is so that we could provide the people in the linkshell that were new to end game with the appropriate gear to move on and broaden our horizons.
Eji, I appreciate all of the input on how you think an end game linkshell should be ran. I realize that there are some options for different methods of running a linkshell... but these are considerations that were taken a long time ago and thrown out the window because they didn't suit the leaders idea of a linkshell.
In the end, I can sum this up by saying "People want to have their cake and eat it too." Unfortunately in a game where you have to interact with people, whether you pay the monthly fee or not that isn't how it works.
Anyhow I look forward to getting back and bullshitting with the couple of people that are still left in MR. I have no need to obtain gear or want to deal with people that are less than competent.

1- i was in MR in the weeks following when Non had to leave. you were not there. that is why i always spoke with you in /t, remember? you told me you would come back if something was going to get started up, but you were not actually in the MR Ls. you left when cid did. don't distort the facts and act like you were there with me, llon, and tab trying to keep shit held together. I tried to schedule one sky run, just to see if anyone would come back. guess who was there and had pearl on? me, and tab. i think llon had to go and was unable to stay to help. point is, you say you tried to make stuff happen... well, if you did, it doesnt look like you tried very hard.
2- i also have no idea where you get the idea that i never got on, and am just standing back throwing fireballs at you guys. as i recall, i was on every single night trying to get people to come do CoP. llon was the only person who was consistently there with me trying to put it together. i was there. probably more often than you. i was just not logged in for 5 hours during the evening, because meritting is almost as much fun to me as pulling out my own fingernails.
3- you say for me to "keep hiding". hiding means i would be trying to escape something. what in the world would i be hiding from? i am not logging on right now because i have nothing to come back to as of yet. when non comes back, maybe we will be able to round up a couple of faithful people who will at least want to chill in MR as a social. even if all i had was just some people to talk to while i lvl blm sub up, i may log on. that is not there right now, so i will continue playing halo3 and doing other shit.
4- non was the best friend you have ever made in the game? well, with friends like you, who needs enemies? i wont question you on this one. if you say it, then fine. all i will say is that your actions do not follow with this comment.
Mod.. i really wish there were some kind of "bring us all together" moment i could have here, but you have burned that bridge with gasoline and napalm. with all of the "you fucker" and "you stupid fuck up" comments... well, you certainly don't endear yourself. whatever the case, i will leave you with that. aside from me being a little surprised at your sudden turn on me once i have blown the lid off your true motives, i can see you have some trouble dealing with yourself. either way, feel free to respond or not, if you don't have the time for me.

1- i don't know how plausible rebuilding MR is. That decision rests with non, and i doubt he has the will to do something like that. aside from his job, there has been some very traumatic events in his and nen's family lately. I would like to take a second right now and offer their family my best wishes and prayers again. i dont want to get into this too much, but a cousin that nen and non were very close to was taken at the age of 21 in a car wreck. that being a total aside, i can see non not giving much of a shit whether an ffxi ls gets remade. i dont blame him.
as for your observations, i will try to give some of my own insight
2- very true, we could not keep members. this is why we broke, for the most part. truth is, these members that left.. were they worth having anyways? look at it this way. we could make an ls like Absynth, where character doesnt matter for shit. any shithead can come in, drain gear, kill stuff, be scum, etc. they probably have fun doing this. this LS style is fine for many. good for them. MR aspired for more than that. i can;t speak for non here, but i will give what i feel, and most likely it mirrors his feelings. to me, it is much more worth my time and effort to get someone that i am friends with and who i value and wish to see enjoy themselves get a piece of gear that they want, that it would be to load up the ranks of the LS with dirtbags who we can throw at whatever we are fighting so we can get everyone their gear. point is, it takes time. people apply, we let them in, they be who they are. i remember at the last dynamis we had scheduled, only 12 people showed up. non said that he is changing the event to "get CoP done". one member who was on promies decided that he would rather just go merit. he decided to cop out on an event. this person, i would rather just not have in the ls. it takes time to separate the wheat from the chaff. we had a core, and that is the hardest part when making an endgame ls. we just needed to add some solid peripheral members to keep the list full, and attend events. in time, they may have proven themselves to be cool guys too. or they would be an assbag who decides they feel like doing their own thing and not being down with the LS.
2- i'm not sure how to examine the whole game as a job thing. the point of being in an endgame LS is that you do endgame. if you don't want to commit to being at events when you are on, then you need to consider if endgame/MR is right for you. (i don't mean YOU eji, i mean the "you" as in, a person in general). the other half of this point is that MR was not a very serious or demanding LS. looking at the mr-ls.com top page, i see in the month of august we did 2 byakkos, 2 seiryus, 2 suzakus, one genbu, and 2 dynamis. that is very little activity, just in terms of doing the actual killing. we had one sky farm scheduled per week, but more often than not, that was cancelled. i dont understand how the disparity between opinions on this is so wide. some people say they left because we never had anything scheduled. others are saying the ls was too serious. however, i may be reading this wrong. if i am incorrect in this, let me read "serious" in the other way.
3- to be in endgame requires commitment. the rules of the LS are not a secret, and were not kept from anyone. when one applied to the ls, he was expected to have read the rules and accepted what they entail before deciding upon seeking recruitment to MR (the "rules" button is located on the top left of the page, in the navigation bar). nobody was ever yelling at members telling them what they can and can't do. in the dynamis becoming CoP event night, non did not yell at all. he informed whoever that was of what their options were. he reiterated that events are not optional, and that if he did not want to attend the event then he would be required to leave the LS. if you don;t want to answer to an LS leader, then don't join the LS. endgame LS need a strong leader. without this, the Ls will fall apart quickly. non kept people honest and called them on their bullshit. if you were trying to take off pearl so you could keep meritting during an event, dont expect to have a home in MR anymore.
4- recruiting, i am right there with you man. it;s hard to recruit sometimes, because when you shout, you end up looking like a joke of an ls. how good can you be if you have to shout, right? i know that non wanted people to have sky access before they joined, and i can see why. he has run so many people to sky just to have them run out on him after getting a few jobs, it has to have made him pretty sick of it. i remember on more than one occasion going and helping someone who was seeking recruitment do ZMs anyways, just to help them out and get them in MR sooner. people would leave after we just wasted all that time helping them. we may have helped the greater good of Diabolos, but we sure got stiffed for it. i'm not saying we were PO wannabes. but they are the standard of success in our server. their people come to events, they get shit done. all of your "should" statements for what you view an LS to be, dont seem to line up with the MR mission. in essence, if taking calls from the leader is an issue, then MR and endgame is not right for you. dont take it as a father yelling at you. take it as the brain sending signals to the hand telling it to move.
5- as for the number of people we should run with.. it wasnt by choice that we farmed sky with 8 people. if things were going better, we would take an alliance. most of the people here (nearly all?) weren't in the old MR. that is how the old MR worked. people came, we got shit done. i dont exactly know what changed or why it got so different. people just wanted different things it seems. that can be a topic for another time.
finally.. no offense Eji, but even if MR were going to make a comeback, which it is a serious doubt that it will... it wont be a matter of changing the way we play. it will either be we are just a social, in which case i hope everyone takes a pearl and just hangs out.. or if we do try endgame, we will just revamp the efforts and try and get everyone fighting fit so we can get back to where we were.
cid, mod, eji.. i hope you guys are enjoying wherever you are now. maybe i'll catch you some time on down the line. even those who seem to be harboring ill will towards me now, i don't really mind.. i'd still like to hear from you some day.
